About this game
A lock over the picture. Four pegs, a handful of colours, and eight tries. Each guess comes back marked: how many pegs are the right colour in the right place, and how many are the right colour somewhere else. Work out which is which and the lock opens. The curtain over her follows the best number of pegs you have had in place, which is not a hint — it is the clue you were already given, drawn as skin instead of as a number, so reading the marks and watching her open up are the same thing. Tries left when it opens are the score: cracking it in three is not cracking it in eight, and only one of those is worth coming back for. Later phases widen the palette rather than lengthen the code, because a longer code makes a phase slower and a wider palette makes it harder. Eight sequences drawn at random each game. One thumb, a few minutes, nothing to install.
